CLIP OF THE DAY: When we love something...

Today this quote got my attention:

When we love something, emotion often drives our actions.
This is the gift and the challenge entrepreneurs face every day.

The companies we dream of and build from scratch are part of us and intensely personal. They are our families. Our lives.

Work should be personal. For all of us. Work should have meaning, not just for the entrepreneur.

Haward Schultz - Starbucks President.

CLIPPING 3 tips:

-TOMOE - 172 Thompson Street, New York - by far the best sushi I have ever had.

-H&M  - and their new winter hats collection - @ines4connect instagram pic above.

-ONWARD - Starbucks book, NY Times bestseller, my latest reading.....insightful & greatly inspiring.

CLIP OF THE DAY: To the ones who dream

In life there are the dreamers and the realists.....and as all matters of the heart it would be logical for alike souls to search for similar minds. So dreamers to seek for dreamers and the realists to look for realists...but the thing is, for any of them to really work, they need to connect with one another.

It must be said I grew up on that parallel universe, with very clear examples of both on each side of my family and I guess I am a product of that. And I too learned to navigate between my free minded spirit (one of a dreamer....) and strong raw personality (one of a realist). Constantly dwelling to abandon 'limbo' and pick a side; but funny enough my experience with CONNECT in the end thought me otherwise.  You gotta have both, and if naturally you don't than instinctively you will look for it on someone else, whether they become a mentor, your business partner, an inspiration or that push you secretly need.

To let you know one of the most honest reasons why I chose Art as my University path, was (and still is) because I have always loved to learn about all the different artists throughout history, try to understand their cultures, mixed influences and different interpretations of dreams and realities that so many of us seem to take for granted.

See, artists make dreams real. - As simple as this. And whoever tries to over analyse it, is totally missing the point. My mother is a Museologist and she never so much as tried to lecture me about Art per say. She did point out directions, opened roads and shared some of her favourites over our family trips, but in the end, she always says: "like what you like; just because." That might also be a reason why I relate with people who are sensitive to Art; (the ones who like it for what it truly is), they are less cynical, they are 'dreamers' taking it all in, enjoying the ride, and not trying to make a point out of a white canvas with a dot. They do it, they like it, "jut because".

I guess you can say that is the case of Japanese acclaimed artist, Yayoi Kusama - she too, had her own dream, but the (too many) realists around her made it quite impossible for it to become true. - Perhaps, "just because".  Born in Matsumoto, the forth child of a traditional family, a mother who used to hide her brushes, saying she could not be an artist, Kusama struggled to make sure her dreams turned into reality. After long contradicting the rash 'realists' around her she studied painting in Kyoto during the 50's and later on moved to New York, after being frustrated with the 'squared' Japanese style, where she started painting under the influence of abstract expressionism, switching to sculpture and installation, before becoming associated with the pop movement during the 60's. Although 'forgotten' by some, Kusama served as great inspiration for icons such as Andy Warhol himself and is considered one of the most important artists of our times. In 2008 Christie's sold one of her works for $5.1 million, a record for a living female artist.

She is known for the polka dots works by a larger audience, most precisely since covering the facade of Louis Vuitton Fifth Avenue store, a fashion collaboration of merchandise being sold now with her signature. But after exhibiting at the Tate in London, its time for the Whitney Museum of Contemporary Art in New York to welcome her retrospective, to which I went this weekend and highly recommend all local 'Clippers' to go.

Although Kusama has proven quite unique as far as experimenting with different media, her work (despite very varied)  is nevertheless consistent, and that becomes clear when looking at the micromanaged intricacy of her  drawings: veins that look like flowers turned into feelings expressed multidimensionally. Real hallucinations....or simply dreams? No one is really sure, but what matters is that she followed what she liked. "Just because". And you know what? From where I stand she did great.

CLIP-IT: Kusama's "Fireflies on the Water" is also being shown at the Musuem's lobby in conjunction with her retrospective, but you must get there early in the morning as they become sold out by the first hour.

CLIP OF THE DAY: I love Brooklyn.

The Village of Breuckelen, named for Breukelen (providence of Ultrecht) in the Netherlands was first inhabited by the Dutch and contemporary native americans in 1646. Known to us as: Brooklyn, this is the second-most densely populated county in the United States, after New York County (Manhattan, there is); but despite facts, walking around it actually feels like a ride around a local village... So what truly makes a city liveable or loveable? Its heritage, the neighbours, parks, your favourite restaurant, transportation, a good opportunity, convenience or love - simply? On my case, CONNECT did, and it took me around what is now one of my favourite places I want  to learn more about, Williamsburg.

First and foremost I cannot possibly take the credits for my latest article, as I must thank my friend and talented photographer Pauline Rochas for connecting me around the hood as one should. Allow me to start by Williamsburg newest platonic idea of modern reborn from an old textile factory turned into towns hottest hotel and cutting edge rooftop meeting point for residents: The Wythe Hotel. 'where sleep is optional'. Well, in any case if you decide to, its not expensive either ($179 a night). Blending hip and raw industrial look with impressive hospitality, what I found interesting is that much of the furniture was actually (and very cleverly may I add) made from wood salvage during the renovation process and designed all by local craftsman. If you are there just for the ride check out the bar on the roof top; if you are in for the long one, make sure you eat at the Reynards Restaurant. Well, since food is on the menu, yesterday I had dinner at Aurora, a rustic little Italian spot where we all sat by the garden and enjoyed Tuscan finest bowls of pasta and white wine, priceless after a very long day of work. Speaking of which, have you checked the latest on CONNECT....?

CLIP-IT - My next stop there: The outdoors cinema night at the Pier 1 Harbour SYFY Movies (starts at sunset, and it runs every Thursdays until August 30th) --  I do love Brooklyn.

Have you found what you are looking for?

For most of my experience, I seem to discover new places, which end up being very special to me - the same way I connect with people: accidentally meant to be, at the right time precisely but the wrong moment and when I am not looking. So my question is: Do we really find what we are looking for? Or should we look for it to be found?

Whichever the case, the world does work in mysterious ways... but still, I can guarantee you that 9 out of 10 people will tell you that their favourite restaurant was found by chance on a hidden corner during a carefree stroll. (and that happens for the world's most known love stories to man kind and successful business ideas we hear about it). So my point is as much as I had promised for CLIP of the day to be - everyday - I would be lying to you if I had come here to write an article about something new, given CONNECT's latest happenings....

The same way you can't learn to have charisma or buy connections, you can't force spontaneity; you either have it or you don't. But ultimately that in it self can be the difference, and I have always been a strong believer that force should  never be imposed but rather always achieved. But I must confess that I have 'forced' myself to come here everyday since the 17th of June, I have continuously forced my self to write and failed. Everytime. Not because I fell out of it, but simply because my heart wasn't here. And that is most probably and the most logical explanation why we only have 1 heart, and why it will never truly function in two places at the same time. You cannot do everything at once. (Not if you truly put all of your heart on it). So like everything else in life, I made a choice and gave you nothing.  Absolutely nothing for ....days. No hint, no apologies or new CLIPS. And if for every choice a consequence, I must now reveal that I couldn't be happier with mine. It is with great joy that I can confirm that CONNECT has officially and successfully joined forces with two new international identities and is preparing  for the launch of a bigger and better new website by the begging of September 2012. That alone has taking more than my regular extra time since March and clearly a lot more of my body and mind, heart and soul lately...and it will continue to until early September. But these are very exciting times for all CONNECT members and the new ones to come....!

So with that being said, I thought I would lock today's CLIP of the day with a few suggestions for the summer straight from CONNECT members, fashion features editors, restauranteurs and  the coolest entrepreneurs....:

1 -This season's sunglasses hot picks - Westward Leaning &  Oliver Peoples

2 -London's new Greek spot - Mazi Restaurant

3 -Saint-Tropez's latest hotel found - White 1921

4- New York's inexpensive opening  The Pod Hotel

5 -Brazil's promessing musical talent - Rodrigo Lampreia & Samba Santa Clara Project

Well, wherever you are, I hope what you are looking for,  finds you. xx

CLIP OF THE DAY: Off to the Hamptons

There has been quite a phenomenal new trend in the Hamptons this summer: the re-birth of old roadside motels architecturally revamped (you might have seen them in several movies: one or two story houses with rooms facing the pool...) they are usually quite modest but well situated. Well, if simplicity and great location is your motto, then my guess is that you will love the most recent boutique gem hidden outside New York: Capri Hotel in Southampton. Think bright beachy look, fresh, hip decor, with all-white bedrooms designed by Cythia Rowley and a NOBU restaurant inside with music playing until 1a.m.(not 'so' modest I guess...). Well, it has to be said that while prepping for CLIP of the day's calendar, one of my good friend's msg with pictures from their fun Saturday there made me somehow start embracing the fact that I have to be in New York City working during the summer while some of you enjoy Europe's Mediterranean finest 'dolce fare niente' and got me looking forward to my first break as soon as I have crossed the Atlantic. If  (and when) The HAMPTONS is on your mind - don't forget to go to Candy Kitchen everyone's favourite hangout for classic ice-cream or Lime Rickey drink. Book a table at The Lobster Roll (kitsch-looking restaurant famous for their seafood). If you want to get a grasp of why 'everybody who is anybody' goes to the Hamptons, then make your way to Nick & Toni's (house speciality: Italian food and celebrities....). My family's regular stop when we are there: Harper's book, CONNECT friend, Harper Levine's super cool bookshop and art gallery. CLIP - As you can imagine being half-Brazilian myself, picking a beach spot to suggest you out there isn't something I'm particularly excited, as I think about the Hamptons as a nice place to visit as whole, and not somewhere you go for the 'best white sand summer' experience and they are quite often very similar to one another also; in any case, I have been to the Main beach in East Hampton and Gibson Beach in Sagaponack and can recommend both. In essence, between pool parties, champagne brunches, polo matches, charity garden events or quite down time around East areas, one way or the other this where New Yorker's always (and still) are to be found from these months onwards....and in this case so will I. Have a great week clippers, I. xx

CLIP OF THE DAY: When in NYC town, be a Nolitan.

Want to feel like a true cool New Yorker? Eat local, sleep local,  live local, I say. On my very second CLIP of the day, I mentioned the rising hip "NOLITA" neighbourhood as being one of the places to have in mind next time you are in town. And so it still is...Nolita’s newest hotel The Nolitan located on the corner of Kenmare and Elizabeth’s streets is here to prove that, and with the 'sole' mission of make you feel like one of them. Even if for only a few days, starting by merely having 55 rooms, you know you're bound to get special attention, and one of the pampering services is their notorious ‘free unpacking and packing service’ (I quite like that) and of-course free Wi-Fi. (enough with the having to pay for this, which usually is outragous by the way). CLIP to keep? Check out their brunches as CONNECT ambassadors keep refering them day in and day out...xx I.

CLIP OF THE DAY: To the other side...

So the hottest Hotel in New York now is actually in Brooklyn....Hotel Williamsburg in the heart of the rising neighborhood of Williamsburg (evidently). Retro decor meets modern clean cut building - the ultimate "luxe cool" where each of the rooms are equipped with an individual Crosley record player and vinyls from a Brooklyn record label. From high end fashion editorials to known artists, it seems everybody is crossing over to the other side, in style. Add that to the hippest bands playing after dinner its easy to understand why the Hotel's Pillar & Plough restaurant is the place to hang. CLIPPING the latest text message from CONNECT insider: "Hun, @ the roof top pool of William's-B Hotel, found the new SoHo House in town...rush back xx" I know I am... Wishing you the continuation of a great day at work until then. (one day left to Friday Clippers)!

CLIP OF THE DAY: Move over NYC, Paris is in town...

When THE one and only Parisian hotspot Le Baron, announces they are opening their own doors in New York City, everybody who is a mere resident on "party universe" waited for their exclusive invitation to be stamped with their name on mail. But that was (belive it or not 2 years ago..) and getting a liquor license had seemed to put the New York project on perpetual standby - many even questioned whether the club would ever really open. If you are one of those people who believes that good things come for those who wait - linger no more, it finally happened. Say hello to the infamous Paris original, run by film director/graffiti artist André Saraiva and his new New York baby: LE BARON NYC a multi-story, 70's lounge, where madness knows of no nationality, volume or limit. And as fashion week (conveniently) approaches whisper has it that Le Baron will be the place to see and be seen in February. We know how many made their way down to Mulberry Street to try and join , but needless to say that in this particular case, you better be CONNECTED. Thanks Jonathan xxx

CLIP OF THE DAY: NYC's New Steam.

For some of us who live or lived in New York recently, its known that Chinatown restaurants have now become kitschy night hot spots where the real cool downtown fashion circuit hides and parties for that matter. It all started during Fashion Week in September, and they keep steaming up this winter's trendy soireés. Everyone's new favorite? Connect word has it its Red Egg, and don't be diseased by the regular "design" restaurant look  across from Centre Street that goes quiet after dark. Inside, we are talking intimate hazy red, blue and purple lighting that looks like a cinematic projection of a Wong Kar-wei movie where DJ's dressed in Alexander Wang jumpsuits and animal prints spin British punk, R&B and electro-pop of Swedish House Mafia. Considered one of the three most difficult places to get in in town right now by the New York Times. Well, now you know: Red Egg - Wednesday to Saturday, 10p.m. to 4a.m. And think about maybe using your Connect account if you want to get in.

CLIP-IT: Good Ambassadors in hand, like my favorite beau when it comes to partying in NYC. THANK YOU for the inside scoop Jonathan Rod, we love you! Check out party pictures on Twitter: @ines_connect. Keep up the good work Clippers - See you inside the red, wild, hot egg soon. xxx

CLIP OF THE DAY: Hip, Chic & Cheap

Today's clip is something I get asked frequently by friends and CONNECT members: a  hip, chic and cheap place to stay in New York - and believe it or not it is not easy to find, especially ones that are in cool neighborhoods, including rooftop views, central air-conditioning, full-time house keeping or even high-end shampoos... (yes, members ask me that). Well, get your paperclips ready and keep this one in file: The Bowery House, the newest hot spot between trendy NoLiTa and the Lower East Side. I'm talking Ralph Lauren towels, 300-thread-count sheets, lounge with leather Chesterfield sofas,  hip bar, commissioned artwork,  rooftop with panoramic views for only $62 a night. As if all that wasn't enough, its also a great spot to 'connect' as most guests are the cool international creative type by 80 per cent with an average age of mid 30's. (we like that) - In all, perfect timing for anyone planning a short and unexpensive trip to New York around Thanksgiving holiday.

CLIP OF THE DAY: My Favorite

On a recent interview I was asked where do I like to hang out the most in New York....a dificult one as there are so many places that came to mind...nevertheless and truth be told I do have a soft spot for Soho House and their 6th floor is my "pantry meets lounge" favorite place to go to.

This weekend I pretty much tried to juggle last minute errands and spending quality time with my loved ones as I'm boarding to Europe for a month tomorrow so expect exciting news on CONNECT soon. My Friday night unfolded into a quite and cosy family dinner at Brazilian restaurant 'Rice and Beans', Saturday started with brunch with my favorite couple entrepreneur David Quinta and his beautiful wife actress Benedita Pereira at Chelsea's Westville (absolutely reccomend), followed by busines lunch uptown at Bar Italia and dinner with friends at The Soho House where we all remained happily until 3am...my favorite New York "living room" no question about it.

CLIP-IT: As part of one of the "orders to take to Europe's list" I was asked to buy nigella seeds at Dean & Deluca - not a problem as a trip to NY finest grocery shop is always a pleasure as far as I'm concerned, but what I would like to CLIP in view and share with you is that nigella seeds are aparently one of the best spices to cook - Oh well (living and learning) - For my part I was just happy that benny and I were able to take this trip and stock up on Dean & Deluca's Dulce de Leche - My favorite (too)!

CLIP OF THE DAY: Mix Master

"Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working"
                                                    Pablo Picasso

For many he represents THE artist: daring, excentric, globaly celebrated, clever with shapes, forms and colour. But whoever studied his outstanding path knows he has been acknowledged to be the greatest draftsman of the twentieth century. My very favorite museum in New York, The Frick Collection just organized a very special exhibition that looks at the development of Picasso's drawings (we are talking about more than 50 works - from his precocious academic exercises to his worldly famous innovations of cubism and collage).  Picasso's Drawings, 1890–1921: Reinventing Tradition features loans from important public and private collections in Europe and the United States  and in Susan Glassi's own words (Frick's senior curator): "The show focuses on this fundamental aspect of his work, specifically in relation to his drawings, where his interaction with artists of the past often first emerged. Our project aims to take a fresh look at Picasso's drawing practice". Personally I think that this is what was missing: a Picasso exhibition for the world to really get to know the meticulous man behind abstract.

CLIP-IT: To my dear friends and Clippers who I know are heading to NYC for Halloween: Picasso's Drawings, 1890–1921: Reinventing Tradition runs from October 4th -2011 through January 8th - 2012.

CLIP OF THE DAY: Mind Blowing

Mind blowing was the exact term to describe my reaction the very first time I heard about Dry Bar in L.A.: a place just for you to have your hair blow-dried??? Well, for many this information can be as shallow as a wading pool but for 'moi' that is as good as it gets, considering its fix fee (30 euros wash & dry), their products (they have my favorite: marroccanoil),  their highly talented specialists and its flexibility - all rolled up in a chic cool loungelike decor. Well, today while I read this month's edition of Harper's Bazaar, page 238 managed to put a smile on my face: "Rejoice! Drybar is finally opening salons in New York". As a Clipper, I'm assuming many of you travel (from time to time) to NYC - this is a reliable place to go before an event, big night out or one of those last minute do's that you may have while in this fast paced town. (gentlemen, keep this clip in hand too, you might save your selves a lot of time searching for that place for your other half or family member who will keep you away from heading out sooner). Its also a great ideia for CONNECT entrepreneurs to keep in mind - consider and research your own neighbourhoods as they are proving to be incredibly popular. If you live in New York, now you know - my personal beauty black book CLIP this week goes to DRY BAR NYC.

CLIP-IT: DryBar in New York: Flatiron 4 West 16th Street. Book an appointment directly on your i-phone (drybar app) or call (+1) 212.561.5392.

CLIP OF THE DAY: Sound Bite

Yesterday was a very busy and special day. My dear Godfather (and one the man I most admire) was  as usual media atention (frontpage of the New York Times followed by a TV interview on Bloomberg). Sound bite? As some of you may know, there has been recent news about American and overseas regulators clamping down on "rapid trades" in stock market. As a longtime Wall Street trader, my Godfather (who's identity I will preserve on my blog) has been pointing its volatility for both  the public and traders on global markets. In the United States The Securities and Exchange Commission is  now looking for fair monitoring into the new market structure and in July, it approved a “large trader” rule.
All business aside and with a long day behind us, we met for a cosy family dinner uptown at Nello's italian restaurant, known for  its tagliolini with butter, truffle oil, shards of black truffle and Parmesan. (I'm not truffle lover, but if you are I thought I should mention it). Considered by many "overly priced" and despite having waited longer than one should for a bowl of pasta,  its charming, one of the best places to eat pasta in New York and probably the best seafood spaghetti I have ever had (bare in mind I come from Portugal: the land of "mariscos").

CLIP-IT: No website, the address is: 696 Madison Av. (near 62nd). You might want to call and book in advance; ask for a table outside.  Nello also has take-out available: Telephone N. 212-980-909.

CLIP OF THE DAY: We're Jammin'

Finally I took the time! I have been meaning to CLIP about Miss Lilly's since it opened.  Let's keep it short and sweet: this has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants for laid back rendez-nous with my friends in New York. I have a soft spot for all of it: the location, the hip people, their yummy niblings, great Caribbean beer, jamaican music and the efordless fun luncheonete vibe....Same owner of La Esquina - ubber cool place to eat Mexican-  and the connection you should have (a.k.a Serge Becker) opened Miss Lilly's funky-retro-chic spot only 6 months ago and powerless to resist its charm and savory food, its where most locals head on a regular basis already. "We're jammin' and I hope this jam is gonna last..."

CLIP-IT: Jerk Chicken & their Red Snapper ceviche (melty fish soaked in a coconut-lime marinade).

CLIP OF THE DAY: French fare with a Latin flair

This weekend I was invited to the opening of The Americano restaurant inside the brand new Hotel Americano in New York. To my surprise the food was beyond EXCELENT and the service was impecable. In all honesty, opening nights are not my favorite thing when it comes to try out food as most of the time during its first days, they always seem to be still "geting a hang of it..." but luckly for us this wasn't the case. "French fare with a Latin flair" she quoted, after speaking to Chef Olivier Reginensi,  Anna - our lovely Colombian hostess for the night - while she walked us to the dining room with a view to the outdoor patio and rooftop grill. Suggestions? I very gladly enjoyed my Robalo con Mariscos (striped bass, braised fennel, shellfish & salsa verde) and a mini steak Tartare as an apetizer.

So you are in the know, the beautiful garage-turned-into-boutique-hotel just opened its doors this September and its already the buzz of the town. No wonder...after a quick tour around its 10 story minimalistic glass structure  incased in metal mesh designed by Mexican Arquitect Enrique Norten, I was ready to check in....(if only dinner wasn't waiting for me downstairs). Followed by our lavish food, the night was still young and the distinguished NY Pr Omar (himlself) walked us to Americano's hidden basement en route to El Privado bar. Golden ceilings and brick walls, a round futuristic fireplace and leather sofas staged  the perfect ambiance for what is said to be West Chelsea's new hot private living room and where the New York "old school" gang can be seen. True or not: I had fun. (and recomend).

CLIP-IT: More on Hotel Americano hidden spots, food, lounge pool parties..? Think CONNECT.

CLIP OF THE DAY: Ice Ice Baby

My life is better when I'm eating ice-cream - There you go. I said it.

My own pursue of happiness when I'm tracing the streets of New York: Emack & Bolio's (SoHo) 73 West Houston St, great crazy creative flavor combinations, like purple cow & caramel moose prints. Grom Gelataria, on Bleecker st, where I'm currently in love with their Mirtillo with wild blueberry pulp, Limone with verdello lemons from Sicily and Crema Di Grom organic egg with Langhe region with corn biscuits and Colombian "teyuna"chocolate and chocolate chips. And when I'm home, I always make sure that I have (one of my best NY discoveries): Il Laboratorio del Gelato, an entire Italian ice-cream lab in town, with a growing list of almost 200 flavors, where chef's develop unique flavors for their individual menus throughout the year (and counting...) in addition to wholesale delivery six days a week, Il Laboratorio del Gelato also has a small walk-in shop boasting a large window into a open kitchen, where frozen desserts are hand-made, where you can taste it for yourself.

True, you can't buy happiness but you can buy ice-cream and that's kind of the same thing, as being happy without reason, to me is reason to be happy. So thank God for ice-cream!

CLIP OF THE DAY: Electric News

As if this city didn't have enough hapenning already these days....! This week in New York, nightlife King Nur Khan (a.k.a. Rose bar owner) just opened the doors to the Electric Room at the Dream Downtown Hotel just in time for Fashion Week, where rumor has it will host some of the week's hottest after-show parties. Yesterday over a catch up coffee at the Mercer Hotel lobby a friend of mine  (who got a little preview) told me Eletric has a sort of Cool British intimacy meets New York party scene vibe to it and no detail was left  aside from the Union Jack leather sofas to the Marilyn Minter artwork and glass mirrors custom-made by Brooklyn artist Chris Stain. By the looks of it The Electric Room will soon hit the likes of uptown sociallites, celebrities and the low-key downtown artist looking for good British music - electrifying - indeed. Can't wait to see that...

CLIP-IT: No website just yet, so make sure to write the address down: Electric Room at the Dream Downtown Hotel; 355 West Sixteenth Street at Ninth Avenue, New York.

CLIP OF THE DAY: Worth Connecting

Meet Candace Worth, the woman who connected ART with our generation.

Pennsylvania University graduate, she previously worked for the Contemporary Art Department at Christie's, lectured at the Rhode Island School of Design and now serves on the board of the Drawing Center in New York City. A true New Yorker at heart, she is beyond energetic, super fast, smart and probably one of the funniest people I have ever met. After literally connecting with promessing artists, fancy gallery owners, auction houses, bankers, fashion designers, actors....you name it - Candace opened WORTH ART ADVISORY in 2001. Why? To bridge the gap between young art collectors and the art world establishment. A perfect combination and one which has proved to be very sucessful, according to Financial Times "Candace specialises in cutting out the intimidation factor". She knows both worlds like no one in town does: "us" who don't really know where to invest and moreover think its "too expensive and complex" to do so and the ART Universe people you should be connecting with. If you like contemporary Art but thought you couldn't set up your own art collection just yet, well think again, beacuse Candace will prove you wrong.

Needles to say Miss Worth is a CONNECT MEMBER and I have my Godmother to thank for having connected us two while I lived in NYC back in 2004! True not everybody can have a Godmother like I do....but for everything else you have CONNECT.

CLIP OF THE DAY: RE-Cycle

THEY ARE BACK & in VOGUE!! (have they ever left...)?

BICYCLE: The first human means of transport to use only two wheels invented by the German Baron Karl Von Drais and "officially" introduced to the public in Paris in 1818. Re-designed in the 1860s, by Pierre Michaux and Lallement, who added a mechanical crank drive with pedals on the front wheel...and the world has never been the same. From sports, movies, quotes inspired by it to professions that depend on it, bicycles have always been part of our lives one way or the other....and that used to be ok with me. But when 2 of my friends in NY (Andre A and Benny Aires P) sent me proud pictures of their newest acquisition: a bike on the same week, Carol B & Maria Braga started bragging about cycling around sunny London, and Barao meeting me on his stylish bike...well ...to me it was time to CLIP about it!
